My favorite local spot for sunsets in Summer - Arbutus Farm.
To provide a basic background of the property, the owners are conservationists. Every year, they leave the tall grasses unmowed until early August to ensure that birds like the Savannah Sparrow and the Bobolink have all raised their young. They have decided to preserve the land in its open state through a combination of the farmland preservation program and the Litchfield Land Trust conservation easements.
This is a very special place - very peaceful. I for one am grateful for the opportunity to photograph this view every Summer. To know that it will not change is reassuring.
My interest in photography started at ten years old, when my father introduced me to the art. Several years ago, a camera gift from my beloved husband reignited my passion for the art. I am a self-taught, New England Landscape/Seascape photographer. With ever- evolving "eyes to see", I am consistently in pursuit of capturing the best of what nature has to offer. New England seascapes have been at the heart of my passion, drive, and motivation. Nothing draws me in like the ocean waves; whether they are crashing violently due to an off-shore storm, billowing gently up against warmly-lit rocks, or blanketing and lapping the soft sands of our New England beaches.
