Artist's Description

I usually like to photograph my seascape images with the sun setting over the water. So this makes Summer a rather difficult time for seascape photography in the Northeast U.S., primarily because the sun sets behind many of the beaches (depending upon where you are).
But in this case, the sun setting behind me worked out well to provide a unique setup. The wave crests caught the front-facing golden light of the setting sun.
I also love rocks in my foreground, especially at this particular beach. The rocks have beautiful flecks in them, and the moss lends some extra interest.

About Kim Carpentier

Kim Carpentier

My interest in photography started at ten years old, when my father introduced me to the art. Several years ago, a camera gift from my beloved husband reignited my passion for the art. I am a self-taught, New England Landscape/Seascape photographer. With ever- evolving "eyes to see", I am consistently in pursuit of capturing the best of what nature has to offer. New England seascapes have been at the heart of my passion, drive, and motivation. Nothing draws me in like the ocean waves; whether they are crashing violently due to an off-shore storm, billowing gently up against warmly-lit rocks, or blanketing and lapping the soft sands of our New England beaches.
